Our Enquiry Service

Cofnod holds the largest species database in North Wales. The data we hold come from a wide variety of data suppliers, including Government, NGOs and amateur experts. Using our powerful reporting system, we can combine species, habitat and site data for a given geographic area. The reports and maps we produce (see samples) can easily be sent by email. They are designed to highlight important species and sites in the given search area. Our reporting system can also produce customised outputs upon request.

Ordering a Search

To request information from us you will need to fill out our online Data Enquiry and Release Form (DERF). This provides us with details of who you are, what information you require and the geographic area you are interested in. You can use our Check Location utility to ensure your search location is within our area.

Once you've ordered a search we'll automatically confirm that we've received your online DERF. When we've checked the details of your request and have confirmed any possible revisions, we'll give you an estimated time scale and cost for the search. This quotation service is free of charge and there is no obligation to proceed with the search. Once agreed we aim to complete searches within 10 days, although more complicated searches may take longer.

NOTE: Our Enquiry Service is primarily designed for use by Environmental Consultants and other commercial users. If you are not in this category of user (e.g. you are a member of the public or student) please contact us, giving details of your request, before using the Service.

Check Location

Check the location of your search area, specify a search radius and make sure it's within our boundary. It can also direct you to a neighbouring LRC.
