10:30am - 3:30pm, 31st March 2018. These insects display fascinating behaviours and are also important recyclers. Learn how to catch, identify and make records of the species with National Scheme Organisers Ashleigh Whiffen and Matthew Esh.
The North Wales Wildlife Trust Bird Race will be on Saturday May 5th this year. Please join in – and tell others about it!
This will be the 6th year of the Race. Over 50 participants have taken part so far, ranging from bird beginners and babes in arms to some of the top ornithologists in the region. So far, close to 150 species have been recorded on the race across the diverse habitats of NWWT reserves. These include Roseate Tern, Blue-headed Yellow Wagtail, Arctic Skua, Hen Harrier, Short-eared Owl, Ring Ouzel, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Osprey, Black Guillemot and Wood Warbler to name just a few.
The race itself is a celebration of birds and habitats, an opportunity / excuse to be out all day (and some of the night if you want!), and hopefully lots of fun…
