This is a two year survey organised by the RSPB and the Welsh Ornithological Society (WOS).
This species, now considered to be quite uncommon in some parts of Wales is one of the priority species identified by WOS as needing further survey work.
The Welsh Coordinator is Anne Brenchley (use email address shown to contact her) and some local coordinators are in place in North Wales, Pembrokeshire, Glamorgan, the Gower and Brecon.
The main part of the survey is to visit any of the 2x2km squares identified by the RSPB just prior to the main breeding season and play Willow Tit calls and record responses and sightings.
If you would like further details or want to take part then please contact Anne in the first instance.
All records of both Willow Tit and Marsh Tit are welcome and any photographs are an added bonus as these may help to distinguish between the two species if the recorder is uncertain.

Starting salary £30,756 pro rata
Fixed term contract (initially six months).
Flexible and part-time options available.
Based at SEWBReC, Talbot Green, Pontyclun, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales.
Wales is the first and only nation in the UK to have a full network of Local Environmental Records Centres (LERCs). Since 2007 the four Welsh LERCs have worked closely and collaboratively and in 2015 a not-for-profit consortium company, Local Environmental Records Centres Wales Limited (LERC Wales) was formed with a key aim of delivering seamless Wales-wide biodiversity data services to our local and national data suppliers and users.
LERC Wales now has a shared, standardised database of over 11 million wildlife records has been created which may be accessed by the public and our partners via Aderyn – the LERC Wales

We are now seeking an experienced, motivated and creative PHP developer to assist in driving forward the further development of Aderyn, as well as to improve its performance and resilience. The successful candidate will be a key part of our small development team (the lead Aderyn developer is based at BIS in Brecon) and will need to be well organised, a good decision maker and an excellent communicator who produces well-commented code. You will need to be able to take ideas from conception though to deployment, as well as refactoring and improving existing code.
Apply via our listing on CV Library or request further details via recruitmentsewbrec.org.uk
Application deadline is 6th February 2019 at 12 noon
South East Wales Biodiversity Records Centre (SEWBReC) will be the hosting and employing organisation for this post.
