BSBI plant surveys in Flintshire.
All meetings are off for the time being, in the interests of public health.
Please keep the dates in your diary, as I will restart meetings at such time as it seems wise to do so.
As a minimum, March and April are cancelled and after that we shall have to see how it goes.
This event will be reschedule later in the year (depending on future government advice).
Wyn Hughes will introduce you to these fascinating protozoans. The course will cover their biology, sampling methods, photomicroscopy and identification. Their existence since the Cambrian has enabled their use for age and depositional environmental interpretation, and living forms are today being used as indicators of environmental health.
This event will give delegates an opportunity to learn of collecting and identification techniques, old and new, which are being employed by biological recorders in Wales and the value of biological records to current evidence needs.
The event will appeal to biological recorders, students and professionals from organisations working in conservation within Wales.
The afternoon session will consist of a series of classroom and field based workshops together with a parallel discussion session exploring ways of encouraging new recorders and supporting biological recording in the future.
A number of places will be reserved for students. The event presents opportunities to get a taste of practical skills and where students might gain further skills and experience volunteering with organisations in the sector.
More details to follow.
Have a browse and see if there is anything that takes your fancy!
