Freshwater Microbiota with Wyn Hughes
Wyn will give an in-depth introduction to families and genera of the largely unknown, but vitally important, microscopic biodiversity in freshwater, followed by a microscope session which will introduce you to a World unimagined. You will learn the complex taxonomy of this disparate group of plants, animals, and cyanobacteria; and learn to identify a few from samples taken at Pensychnant. Wyn is a professional micropaleontologist and we are fortunate that he wants to share his expertise to support Pensychnant. This will be a professional level course but suitable for any keen naturalists. The microbiota transcend what we thought we knew about the definitions of plants/ animals / fungi or even species.
