Bird Atlas in North Wales - Records Still Required

02 February 2012

Fieldwork for the BTO’s Bird Atlas 2007–2011 finished on 31st July last year, and all records must be entered by 20th Feb - an extension from end January.

However our local Breeding Atlas for North Wales (covering the old Vice-counties Caernarfon, Meirionnydd, Anglesey, Denbigh and Flint) is continuing for a further breeding season, April–July 2012. We are mainly concentrating on finding more evidence of breeding in some under-recorded tetrads, also of difficult species like Tawny Owl and Nightjar. For more details see page 5 of our latest newsletter on northwalesbirdatlas.co.uk.
